Pedro Chacón
Pedro Chacón (* 1526 in Toledo , † 1581 in Rome ) was a Spanish scholar. He taught Greek at the University of Salamanca and was a member of the Salamanca School .
Chacon studied in Salamanca and already distinguished himself in mathematics and Greek during his studies.
In 1572 he went to Rome to work on the calendar reform ( Gregorian calendar 1582).
He wrote a history of the University of Salamanca (reissued in 1990) and wrote a book on Roman eating habits. He also published on the decrees of Gratian , the Church Fathers, weights and measures and numbers.
