Pedro Pablo Osorio (born December 29, 1965 in Orizaba , Veracruz ), also known by the nickname Don Cruz , is a former Mexican football player on the position of defender who now works as a coach .
Life
society
Pedro Osorio began his professional career in the 1984/85 season at CA Monarcas Morelia and completed his first league game on matchday 11 in a home game against the Tigres de la UANL , which was lost 1-0. Also in a home game on the 35th matchday of the same season, he scored his first goal in the Mexican Primera División against the old and new champions Club América (2: 4) .
After six years with Morelia, Osorio moved in 1990 to the Tiburones Rojos del Veracruz , with whom he was under contract until 1995 and with whom he reached the 1995 cup final against Necaxa , which was lost 2-0. He then returned to Morelia for a season before ending his active career with the Toros Neza in the 1996/97 season . With the Toros he reached both the finals for the championship against Chivas Guadalajara (1: 1 and 1: 6) and in the cup competition against Cruz Azul (0: 2), both of which were lost.
National team
Between March 1988 and April 1991 Osorio made eight international appearances for the Mexican national team . His debut took place on March 29, 1988 in an 8-0 victory over El Salvador, his last game on April 17, 1991 ended goalless against Costa Rica.
Trainer
As head coach, "Don Cruz" was previously active for the Tiburones Rojos de Córdoba , who were then playing in the third division , and the second team of the neighboring Albinegros de Orizaba , the most important sporting representative of his native city.
