Pedro Raúl Villagra Delgado (born September 27, 1952 in San Miguel de Tucumán ) is an Argentine diplomat .

Life

He studied law at the National University of Tucumán until 1974 . In 1977 he completed an apprenticeship at the Institute of the Argentine Foreign Service. He also obtained a master's degree in international law from King's College London in 1994 . From 1980 to 1988 he worked for the Permanent Mission of his country to the United Nations . From 1988 he worked in the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs. in Buenos Aires . From 1992 to 1996 he worked as the Argentine Consul General in London in the United Kingdom . Delgado then returned to Argentina and held various positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also taught international law at the University of Buenos Aires .

From 2005 to 2016 he was the Argentine ambassador to Australia . At the same time he was accredited as ambassador to Fiji from 2007 and also to Papua New Guinea from 2014 . In 2016 he headed the office of the Argentine Foreign Minister and became Deputy Foreign Minister in December 2016. He held this office until 2017. From 2017 to 2019 he was Argentina's chief negotiator at the G20 summits in Hamburg , Buenos Aires and Osaka . He has been accredited as his country's ambassador to Germany since September 11, 2019 .
