Pedro Rosselló (educator)
Pedro (Pere) Rosselló i Blanch (born March 4, 1897 in Calonge , † August 25, 1970 in Geneva ) was a Catalan and Spanish lecturer and educator. He worked with Jean Piaget and in successor to Elisabeth Rotten as Vice Director of the International Bureau of Education (IBE) 1928–1969.
Rosselló studied pedagogy first in Girona , then at the teachers' seminar in Madrid , whereupon he graduated from the University of Geneva and the University of Lausanne and received his doctorate with the dissertation Marc-Antoine Jullien , pére de l'éducation comparé . In 1927 he became a lecturer at the Institut Rousseau in Geneva, where he worked with Édouard Claparède and Adolphe Ferrière . In 1929 they were recognized by the IBE as an international organization . He taught comparative education at the University of Geneva until 1967.
He promoted comparison in the international debate on education and published the International Yearbook of Education . He was the main organizer of the International Conference on Public Education (ICE).
