The pegmatites Peak is a 790 m high mountain in Marie Byrd Land . In the Queen Maud Mountains , it looms halfway between the main peaks of the Medina Peaks and Mount Salisbury .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964. Participants in a campaign carried out from 1969 to 1970 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named him. It is named after the large, whitish dykes made of pegmatite in a rock face on the south-eastern ridge of the mountain.
