Pei Shen Chen
Pei Shen Chen (born October 20, 1917 in Yiyang , China ; † March 31, 2011 in Zurich ) was a Swiss zoologist of Chinese origin.
He came to Zurich from Beijing in 1947 as a graduate of Tsinghua University . He was first a student and later a colleague of Ernst Hadorn . He completed his habilitation in 1954 at the University of Zurich . In 1959 he was appointed associate professor and in 1968 he was promoted to full professor . In 1988, the professor of experimental stepped Zoology in retirement . His monograph on the biochemistry of insect development became an internationally recognized work.
