Peka is a place in the district of Leribe in Lesotho in southern Africa .

geography

Peka is located about 60 kilometers north of the state capital Maseru on Main North One , the north parallel to the South African border . A large part of the village lies between the road and the Caledon flowing west of it , which forms the border with South Africa here. The population was given in 2005 as around 17,000. 2006 lived in the constituency of Peka, which includes other localities, 20,801 inhabitants.

Peka Bridge is a bridge with border posts near the place. From there a road leads to Clocolan .

Economy and Infrastructure

One of the schools is the Peka High School , which existed before Lesotho became independent. Well-known former students include Prime Minister Tom Thabane and writer Zakes Mda .
