The Pudu Temple ( Chinese  普渡 寺 or 普度 寺 , Pinyin Pǔdù sì , English Pudu Temple  - "Temple of Universal Redemption") in the Chinese capital Beijing is one of the Beijing "Eight Outer Temples of the Imperial Palace " ( Gugong wai bamiao ). It is located on the east side of the north end of Nanchizi Street in the Dongcheng District near the Donghuamen Gate in the east of the Forbidden City.

A former Dorgon prince's residence in the early Qing Dynasty was converted into a Tibetan Buddhist temple in 1694 . After the fall of the German Empire, the facility was converted into a school site and later housed a tax museum. More recently, the temple has been extensively restored.

The Pudu Temple was dedicated to the veneration of Mahakala , a Tibetan protective deity of esoteric Buddhism who gained popularity in the Mongol pantheon and also among the Manchu .
