The Pekulnei Mountains ( Russian Пекульней ) is a mountain range in the Chukchi Autonomous Okrug in northeastern Siberia .
The Pekulnei Mountains extend over 300 kilometers in a north-northeast-south-southwest direction. The mountain range forms a southern continuation of the Chukotka highlands . It is bounded in the east by the Tanjurer River . There the Pekulnei Mountains descend to the Anadyr lowlands . In the south the mountains extend to the Anadyr River . In the west, the valley of the Belaja with its source river Jurumkuwejem and its left tributary Bolshaya Osinovaya separates the Pekulnei Mountains from the Anadyr Plateau .
The highest point is the Koljutschaja ( ⊙ ) with 1381 m . The mountains are characterized by rocky tundra with sparse vegetation.
