The Leningradskij Sudostroitelnyj Sawod Pella is a small special shipyard in Otradnoye , it is located on the Neva and is particularly active in the construction of tugs.

history

founding

The predecessor of the shipyard was founded as a technical operation by the Ministry of Forestry near Saint Petersburg on the post office site around 1930 and mainly repaired and manufactured vehicles for agriculture. The factory destroyed in World War II was rebuilt as Leningrad Technical Factory No. 4.

Shipbuilding from 1950

From 1950 the expansion of the production for shipbuilding began . A small shipyard was established on the banks of the Neva and pilot boats , speedboats and other small ships were built. In the 1960s, production was expanded to include small fishing and research vessels . These were now largely made of GRP.

Privatization in 1992

The privatization took place in 1992 under the name Pella and in 1996 the company was converted into a stock corporation, which operates the shipbuilding with the associated 9 subcontractors of the shipbuilding supply industry on the area of 19 hectares. This results in a very high level of vertical integration and well-coordinated cooperation.

expansion

At the beginning of 2014, Pella Schiffswerft took over the bankrupt Sietas shipyard in Hamburg . The Russian company had submitted an offer for € 5 million.

Products

Today the Pella is a shipyard for small units in special shipbuilding and the marine sector. The previous construction program was retained and expanded to include ships for the coast guard , fire-fighting boats , closed lifeboats and life rafts . It is an important shipyard in the tugboat market segment, with a focus on port tugs and tugs for push boats, which are also exported.
