Project 03160 is a series of small, fast patrol boats developed by Russia and put into service from 2015. The marketing name of the project is “Raptor” in Russian “Раптор” .
technology
hull
The structure of the class is reminiscent of the Swedish Combat Boat 90 (CB 90) from 1991.
The 16 meter long fuselage of Project 03160 is made of an aluminum alloy and is armored against fire from small arms. The steering position for the two crew members is housed in the front part of the boats, behind which is the elevated weapon station with the 14.5 mm KPWT machine gun , which can be remotely controlled by the crew. Under the weapon station there is a cabin with two rows for ten seats each along the sides of the ship. A staircase leads from this cabin to a platform on the rear third of the ship. The marine diesel engines are located under the platform. From the cabin there is a second exit to the bow, which passengers can use to climb under the steering position onto a narrow platform on the bow.
Lifeguards , divers , border guards, or up to twenty soldiers can be carried in the cabin, depending on the type of operation . For armed operations, two 7.62 mm PKP machine guns can be mounted on the platform at the stern in a bracket each on port and starboard .
drive
The propulsion system consists of two Caterpillar C18 diesel engines that operate two water jet propulsion systems . This is sufficient with the low displacement of the boats for speeds of up to 48 knots.
Sensors
The boats are equipped with a Nautilus radar for navigation on the mast.
