The Project 21630 , also known as the Bujan class ( Russian "Буян" ), is a class of corvettes of the Russian Navy . It is a modern corvette class with stealth technology for coastal and inland water protection and also designed for landing and supporting special forces .

The modified project 21631 is referred to as "Bujan-M". The export version of the project 21630 u. a. for Kazakhstan is listed under project 21632 "Tornado". With the boats of the project 21631 there are considerable difficulties with the built-in diesel engines.

Calls

On August 19, 2016, as part of the Russian military operation in Syria, the corvettes Seljony Dol and Serpukhov fired calibrate missiles at command posts, ammunition depots and arms factories on the Al-Nusra Front near Dar Taaza in the eastern Mediterranean .

At the beginning of October 2016, the Russian Navy sent the Project 21631 corvettes Serpuchow and Seljony Dol to the Mediterranean again to strengthen the Russian fleet off the Syrian coast together with the Corvette Mirasch ( Project 1234.1 ).
