the Pellice in Bibiana

The Pellice (stress on the first syllable) is a 53 km long mountain river in the west of Piedmont , eponymous for the Val Pellice valley in the Cottian Alps .

River course

The Pellice rises on the northern slope of the 3171  m high Monte Granero . At Pancalieri it flows into the Po from the left and is its first major tributary. About 13.8 km from its mouth it takes up the 55 km long Chisone on the left. Thus the river route from Chisone and lower Pellice is longer than the Pellice itself.

Water balance

The catchment area of the Pellice covers 974 km². Its mean discharge is 21.32 m³ / s. The Chisone delivers more than half of this, namely 12.30 m³ / s.

Places on the river

There are only places directly on the river bank in Val Pellice:
