The Penguin Island ( English Penguin Island ) is a South Atlantic rocky island in the Lüderitz Bay in Namibia . The Penguin Island is part of the Penguin Islands and, together with Shark Island, forms the so-called Shark Bay , a natural harbor basin in front of the city of Lüderitz .
As the name suggests, some penguins live on the island . Mainly South African fur seals and seagulls inhabit the island.
The island is part of the Meob-Chamais marine reserve .
