Pomona Island is an uninhabited rock island in the South Atlantic about 200 meters off the coast of Namibia . The island can be temporarily connected to the mainland at ebb and flow tides .
Pomona Island is one of the Penguin Islands . It is located about five kilometers west of the former mining town of the same name, Pomona , which is now a ghost town . The island is hardly accessible due to its location on the diamond restricted area.
Pomona Island is a breeding ground for African penguins and cormorants, among others .
