Schematic representation of a penile fracture

A penile rupture , colloquially but also incorrectly referred to as a penile fracture or penile fracture , is a tearing of the erectile tissue of the penis or the membrane surrounding it ( tunica albuginea ).

A penis rupture can occur when the penis is erect and kinked in the process. This happens in most cases during intercourse or, less often, during masturbation . As a result of the rupture of the penis, there is extensive swelling caused by a bruise . Immediate surgery lowers the incidence of penile rupture complications such as penile curvature , urethral narrowing , erectile dysfunction and prevents a lengthy course.

Demarcation

It is not a fracture ( broken bone ) in the conventional sense, because humans do not have a penis bone . Instead, it is an overstretching or tear in the tissue.
