Pensiero stupendo

Pensiero stupendo (Italian for "wonderful thought") is a song by the Italian singer Patty Pravo from 1978. It was composed by Oscar Prudente and the lyrics are by Ivano Fossati . The lyrics of the song ambiguously describe a woman's idea of ​​participating in a love triangle (a brisk threesome ). The song caused a great scandal in Italy, Pravo was attacked in public for it. The song originally planned for the Miss Italia album had to be removed from the album. The title was one of the biggest hits in Italy in 1978 and reached number 2 on the charts.

The song was originally set to music by the French singer Jeanne Mas . But this version could not convince the record company. Loredana Bertè was also offered the song. Bertè refused to sing a song with such a provocative text. The title was re-recorded several times and set to music by various interpreters.
