history

The building was built as a museum between 1893 and 1898. The Scottish architect William Brown Whitie provided the design . On the part of the city, Alexander Beith McDonald was involved in the planning. The total cost was £ 19,000.

The People's Palace stands in the middle of Glasgow Green not far from the right bank of the Clyde, east of Glasgow city center. The north-facing main facade is designed with Corinthian columns and pilasters . Corner projections with mansard roofs emerge.
