Pep Bras (born December 25, 1962 in Premià de Mar in Spain ) is a Catalan novelist and screenwriter.

Life

Pep Bras was born in Premià de Mar, Catalonia, in 1962. At the University of Barcelona , he completed his studies in Information Science with a diploma. Between 1995 and 2011 he worked as a screenwriter for the production company of comedian and presenter Andreu Buenafuente . During this time he wrote for programs such as Sense títol , La cosa nostra and A pèl (TV3), Homo Zapping (Antena 3) and La última noche (Tele 5), as well as for the Goya Awards 2010 and 2011 presented by Buenafuentes . Bras is a lecturer at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and gives courses in humorous writing at the Pompeu Fabra University and scenic writing at the Escola d'Escriptura de l'Ateneu Barcelonès.

His literary work comprises more than twenty titles, mainly in Catalan . The girl who reaches for the stars ( Insel Verlag 2015) is his first novel in German translation. In addition, Pep Bras - under the name Josep Bras Cuenca - is a member of the Catalan authors' collective Germans Miranda.
