Per Sivle (born April 6, 1857 in Flåm , † September 6, 1904 in Kristiania ) was a Norwegian writer .

Life

Sivle was born as the son of the drover Eirik Sivle in the municipality of Aurland in the Fylke Sogn og Fjordane . When he was two years old, his mother Susanna Andersdotter Ryum died and his father moved with him to Stalheim in the municipality of Voss in Hordaland . From 1883 to 1891 Sivle worked as a journalist for the newspapers Buskeruds Amtstidende and Kristianiaposten . Sivle also lived in Denmark , Germany and England for some time .

He was married to Wenche von der Lippe Nilsen and had a daughter, Susanna, born in 1888 .

Sivle committed 1904 suicide . He was buried in Drammen . In 1909 a memorial stone was erected in Stalheim.
