Percival is a Polish folk band from Lüben that was founded in 2005. As a percival, the group only plays acoustic folk, while a side project called Percival Schuttenbach , with other band members, plays folk metal .
history
The group was founded in 2005 during a medieval market in Wollin aimed at Slavs and Vikings . The band name refers to the character Percival Schuttenbach from the Geralt saga by the Polish fantasy author Andrzej Sapkowski . In 2006 Joanna Lacher joined the group as a singer and drummer. In 2007 Percival released her debut album Eiforr , which was followed a year later by Oj Dido . In 2010 the Russian Christina Bogdanova joined Percival, also as a singer and drummer. 2012 made Slava! the prelude to a planned album trilogy with Slavic folk music. In 2013 she hired the Polish development studio CD Projekt RED to record the soundtrack for the upcoming computer game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt . This was finally released in 2015 and its success contributed significantly to the international popularity of the band.
