Perfect Sisters is a Canadian - American crime - thriller from the year 2014 . Directed by Stanley M. Brooks , the script was written by Fab Filippo and Adam Till . The film, with Abigail Breslin and Georgie Henley in the leading roles, is based on the book The Class Project: How to Kill a Mother , which in turn is based on the real case of Linda Andersen. The film premiered on April 8, 2014. In Germany, it was released directly on DVD on April 24, 2015 .

The pubescent sisters Beth and Sandra are inseparable, but dissatisfied with their lives and blame the single alcoholic mother. Her boyfriend abuses her and harasses Beth. The sisters then decide to kill their mother and make it look like an accident.

criticism

The film received mixed to negative reviews. At Metacritic it got a Metascore of 44/100 based on reviews, at Rotten Tomatoes 27 percent of the 11 reviews are positive.

It has been criticized several times that the film portrays the girls far too friendly. So the film doesn't portray how cold-hearted and calculating they were.
