Peri Arndt (born January 21, 1965 in Eutin ) is a German musician and politician ( SPD ). From March 2011 to 2020 she was a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Professional background

Arndt is a music teacher and works as a piano teacher in Hamburg-Bergedorf . Since 1995 she has formed the duo Dekolleté with singer Kristina Bischoff. For a while she accompanied the Schrillerlocken - a mixed ladies' choir from Hamburg - on the piano. In 2000, Arndt initiated and published together with the Exile Music working group (at the Musicological Institute of the University of Hamburg) the collection of biographical essays on musicians and composers driven into exile and persecuted. She has been the chairwoman of the KulturForum Serrahn association since 2004 and, together with Stefan von Merkl, has been coordinating the Bergedorf activities on the Day of Music since 2009.

Political career

At the age of 15, Arndt joined the Jusos . From 1997 to 2011 she was a member of the SPD in the Bergedorf district assembly, where she was a member of the budget and procurement, youth welfare, and sport and culture committees. From 2008 to 2011 she was chairman of the youth welfare committee in Bergedorf.

With 12,369 votes (5.5 percent) she was able to gain direct entry into the citizenship of the citizenship in the 2011 state election . Since March 7, 2011 she has been a member of the Hamburg Citizenship and sits on the following committees: Family and Youth, Justice, Budget, G 10, G 13 and the Human Resources subcommittee. In the 2015 mayor election , Arndt won another direct mandate in the Bergedorf constituency with 11,006 votes . Since then she has been a member of the Committee on Culture, Justice and Budget.

As part of her political activities, Ms. Arndt also runs portal pages for young people and families in Bergedorf.
