Peria Jerry Edward (* 23. August 1984 in Memphis , Tennessee ) is a former American American football poker players. He played his entire career with the Atlanta Falcons in the National Football League (NFL) on the position of defensive tackles .

Early years

Jerry went to high school in Batesville , Mississippi . He later went to the University of Mississippi .

NFL

Jerry was selected 24th in the first round by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2009 NFL Draft . So he was the second draft pick in his position , behind BJ Raji , whom the Green Bay Packers selected in 9th place.

Jerry received a five-year contract with the Falcons on July 30, 2009. Due to a knee injury, he was only able to play two games in his first season. A season later he was able to play all games, but lost his regular place to the newly signed rookie Corey Peters .

On July 31, 2014, he announced his retirement from the NFL.
