Peristeria ( Greek Περιστέρια ( n. Pl. )) Is a place in the southeast of the Greek island of Salamis . The local beaches are considered to be the cleanest on the island. The Peristeria Islands of the same name are located in the bay of Peristeria.

The place is steeped in history. There are graves from the late Helladic period in the Chalioti district . West of the place on the southern slope of Mount Kochi (276 m) was found the cave of Euripides and very close to a sanctuary for Dionysus . In the cave finds were found that range from the Neolithic to the Frankish period. To the northwest of the place on the Danili plateau there are traces of a late classical fort and below the summit of Kochi another fort. On the Kochi peninsula, southwest of Peristeria, there is the stone lighthouse Akra Konchi from 1901.

The name of the place is said to be derived from the Greek word for pigeon περιστέρι. The name should either refer to the fact that many pigeons come to breed or to the peaceful, secluded calm.
