The Perjentunnel is a 2993 m long single-tube road tunnel on the S16 Arlberg expressway . This is used to bypass Landeck . The tunnel crosses under the mountainside of the village of Stanz north of Landeck, with a maximum overlay of approx. 250 m. It rises continuously at 1% from east to west. The tunnel is named after the Perjen district of Landeck , near the east portal.

In 2010, an average of 13,290 vehicles passed through the tunnel every day.

Since the single-tube tunnel no longer met the safety requirements, a second tunnel tube was built, which was opened to traffic on December 17, 2018. This is temporarily operated with two-way traffic while the existing tube is being renovated. A two-tube tunnel system with one-way traffic is to be available from September 2020. The original plan to operate the new tube with two-way traffic and to adapt the existing tunnel to an escape tunnel has been abandoned.
