Perry Bhandal (born January 12, 1968 in Slough , England ) is a British film director , screenwriter and film producer . His only feature film so far is Interview with a Hitman  (2012) with Luke Goss .

Life

Bhandal was Slough in the County of Berkshire born in the south of England. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Manchester and two masters degrees in Film & Creative Writing from the University of Brunel , Middlesex. In 1991, immediately after graduating, he made his first short film. He also realized a few scripts and tried to write novels.

In 2009 he decided to return to the film business. In May 2009 he founded his production company Kirlian Pictures and began promoting his first feature film project, Penumbra . Because of the high budget , the investors asked for an experienced director for the project. However, Bhandal wanted to make the film himself and postponed the project.

Instead, Bhandal produced the film Interview with a Hitman on a significantly lower budget. The film was shot in just 18 days in and around Newcastle upon Tyne , England and Bucharest , Romania in August 2011 . The comparatively short shooting time was founded u. a. that lead actor Luke Goss was only available for three weeks. However, Bhandal said in an interview that this also corresponds to his way of working. The film was offered on the Cannes film market in May 2012 and then distributed worldwide.

Bhandal is currently working on making the film Penumbra .
