Perry Rhodan: The Adventure (English title: The Immortals of Terra: A Perry Rhodan Adventure ) is an adventure computer game from 3d-io for Windows . It is a licensed game for the German science fiction novel series Perry Rhodan . It was published on February 29, 2008 by the German publisher Deep Silver .

action

The plot of the game ties in with the narrative framework of the novel series from issue number 2400 and the Illochim pocket book series. It takes place in the year 1346 New Galactic Era, which would correspond to the year 4933 AD. Combat robots carry out an attack on the Solare Residenz, the seat of the Earth government. The robots also kidnap Mondra Diamond, the friend of the democratically elected regent Perry Rhodan. Diamond was entrusted with the conception of an exhibition about the mysterious, angelic people of the Illochim. As a result of the attack, the building was emergency sealed and a communication block was imposed. Perry Rhodan is therefore initially arrested and has to find a solution in order to start the pursuit of the kidnappers.

The narrative is divided into six chapters, other locations are the Waringer Academy, the Museum for International Understanding on the Saturn moon Titan , the fictional mining area Elmo Dater and a stranded alien spaceship.

Gameplay

The background scenery of the game is pre-rendered , in front of it the three-dimensionally modeled characters move. The player character Perry Rhodan is controlled via point - & - click controls and has to talk to other characters and solve object puzzles to progress in the game. At the bottom of the screen there is an inventory bar where items are collected. A hotspot display makes it easier to find objects. Text panels and database entries clarify the background and context for non-readers of the series.

development

In 2005 Braingame secured the license to Perry Rhodan and announced the release of a game by 2006. The plot was written by Robert Feldhoff , synopsis author of the novel series, with the support of the dialogues by Michael Marcus Thurner , also a series author. The game was announced in June 2007 at the Games Convention with a release date November 2007. A postponement to February 2008 was announced in October. On February 14, 2008 the completion of the development work (gold report) was announced. Following the release, a patch to correct errors was released in March and a demo version of the first level was released for test purposes in April.

“Anyone who is already addicted to their weekly dose of Perry Rhodan will grab it blindly anyway - and will not be disappointed. With this successful adventure, the rest of humanity will also get their money's worth, because here you can let yourself be carried away in the most beautiful way into foreign science fiction worlds. It's fun to get involved with Perry and his friends, to listen to the often astonishingly funny word battles and above all: to follow the simple, but effectively structured plot to follow a conspiracy. If you play adventures mainly because of the puzzles, you don't have to take it - although it is almost always logical and you can still live with the few slip-ups, but the originality factor is higher elsewhere.
