The Perry River is a river in Gippsland in the southeast of the Australian state of Victoria .

The source is below Fernbank north of Lake Wellington . From there, the Perry River flows 28 kilometers south and flows into the Avon River just before Lake Wellington .

Surname

The river was named by Count Strzelecki after Captain Perry of the New South Wales Survey Department .
