Personal equipment (Swiss Army)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the Swiss armed forces , personal equipment (PA for short) is understood to mean various items of equipment that are given to every member of the armed forces (AdA) at the start of their service life and that they keep until the end of their service life and must keep them.

The AdA is responsible for its equipment and is liable for its loss or willful or negligent damage. In the event of damage during use and if the AdA is not to blame, the items can be exchanged free of charge at the restoration office.

The AdA must ensure that its equipment is ready for use. If he can no longer wear his clothes due to a change in weight, he must have them exchanged off- duty at the retablishment office ( armory ). Such an exchange is free of charge. The replacement or exchange of underwear takes place via so-called quotas: Depending on the length of service (previously: depending on the degree), a certain number of items can be obtained free of charge per year. A similar rule applies to combat boots; they can be bought with a discount based on seniority (as a replacement or as an additional pair).
