People who were honored on a German postage stamp during their lifetime
In Germany, with the exception of the head of state, no living personalities are usually depicted on postage stamps. This is traditionally based and not based on a law.
This tradition was founded with the introduction of postage stamps in the German states, today philatelically called Old German States , when the head of state (→ One Penny Black ) began to be depicted , similar to England, the country in which the stamp was born .
