Inge Eckel

Inge Eckel (born October 7, 1932 in Neunkirchen (Saar) , † July 23, 2003 in Saarbrücken , after marrying Inge Sticher ) was a German athlete who competed for the Saarland .

The athlete from TuS Neunkirchen took in 1952 with the team of Saarland at the Olympic Games in part in Helsinki. With the 4 x 100 meter relay consisting of Inge Glashörster , Inge Eckel, Hilda Antes and Ursula Finger , she set a new national record in 49.0 seconds as the fifth of her prelim.

Two years later Inge Eckel also competed for Saarland at the 1954 European Championships in Bern. With 4.90 meters in the long jump , she was eliminated as 23rd of the preliminary fight. She ran over 100 meters in 12.5 seconds in third place in her heat, only the first two made it through. The season consisting of Inge Eckel, Helga Hoffmann , Trude Schaller and Ursula Finger was eliminated in 48.3 seconds in advance.
