Peschiera Maraglio ( East Lombard - in the variety of Brescia - Peschéra ) is a village ( fraction ) of the municipality of Monte Isola . It is located on the island of Monte Isola in Lake Iseo in the Italian region of Lombardy , province of Brescia .

At the census of 1861 (foundation of Italy) the former municipality had 256 inhabitants, in the 2001 census it is 345 inhabitants.

The floating piers

The municipality was well known from June 18 to July 3, 2016 during the operation of The Floating Piers installed by the artist Christo : This temporary open-air work of art connected Peschiera Maraglio to the Sulzano municipality on the mainland via accessible, floating walkways and the small island of Isola di San Paolo .

The church of San Michele from the 16th century is considered a sight .
