Petar Nadoveza

Petar Nadoveza (born April 9, 1942 in Šibenik , Croatia ), first name also Pero or Pere , nickname Splits Pélé (Croatian Splitski Pele ) is a Croatian soccer coach and former Yugoslavian soccer player . Between 2005 and 2006 he was the sports director of Hajduk Split .

Player career

The striker Nadoveza started professional football in the 1960/61 season at HNK Šibenik in the 2nd Yugoslav league. In 1963 he moved to Hajduk Split and won the Yugoslav championship and the Yugoslav cup once with the club in the following years. In 1973 he moved to SC Lokeren in Belgium for two seasons , where he was promoted to the First Division in 1974 and relegated in 1975. Then Nadoveza ended his active career.

In the Yugoslav national team he was used once, on May 14, 1967 against Albania .

Coaching career

In the 1980s Nadoveza was Hajduks coach twice, with the 1984 cup victory in Yugoslavia. In 1995/96 he won the Slovenian Cup with NK Olimpija Ljubljana . From April to August 2000 he was responsible for the third time at Hajduk and won the Croatian Cup. In addition, in 2004 he replaced Zoran Vulić , who had followed him as coach in August 2000, three game days before the end of the season , at the Hajduk coaching bench and won the Croatian championship for the first time.
