Pete Beaudreau

Pete Beaudreau is an American film editor .

Life

Beaudreau was already aiming for a career as a film editor after finishing school, but initially did not find any projects. He then began studying film at the State University of New York at Purchase . When creating his study films, he mostly had little film material available for cost reasons and spent a lot of time in the editing room in order to use the material as efficiently as possible.

While working as Production Coordinator for Channel 13, WNET, he met the documentary filmmaker Pete Sillen , who took him to the production company Washington Square Films, where he was able to edit his first small videos for Sillen and director Jeff Feurendung .

Through his brother he met director Cory McAbee and got his first professional work for the feature film The American Astronaut , which was shown at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival . This was followed by work on other indie films, including Mark Ruffalo's directorial debut Sympathy for Delicious (2010). In 2011 Beaudreau edited JC Chandor's feature film debut The Great Crash - Margin Call . For Chandors next film All Is Lost responsible Beaudreau the cut . Beaudreau worked with director Cary Fukunaga on the war drama Beasts of No Nation (2015) and the television series Maniac (2018).
