Arnaud Bodart (born March 11, 1998 in Seraing ) is a Belgian football player . The goalkeeper is currently under contract with Standard Liège .

Career

Since he was eight years old, Bodart played in the various youth teams of Standard Liège . He was promoted in the association's training center, the Académie Robert Louis-Dreyfus .

During the play-off games of the 2016/17 season , Standard was already the Belgian cup winner and was thus qualified for the group stage of the 2017/18 Europa League. At the same time, they had only reached play-off 2 and therefore no longer played for the championship. In this situation Bodart was called up as a player of the reserve team in the first team's squad and was in goal during the last two (sportingly meaningless for the club) season games during the entire game. On May 15, 2017, the club signed a professional contract with him.

During the 2018/19 season, Standard Guillermo Ochoa was in goal in all games. Bodart had no game this season: he was largely not in the squad and was also injured from October to December 2018 as a result of a broken hand. Standard had already extended its contract on April 19, 2018.

After Ochoa returned injured from the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2019 and then also changed clubs, Bodart has been the new regular goalkeeper in the 2019/20 season so far. Accordingly, his contract was renewed on September 30, 2019.

National team

So far, Bopart has only played one half in goal in two friendly matches for the U18 national team , most recently on January 14, 2016. Until December 2019, there was no appearance in the senior national team .
