Pete Pumiglio

Pete Pumiglio (born December 12, 1902 in Cristóbal , Canal Zone , † October 20, 1996 in New Port Richey , Florida ) was an American musician of early jazz ( alto saxophone , clarinet ).

From the mid-1920s, Pumiglio worked as a musician in studio bands such as the California Ramblers , University Six (with Arthur Fields ), Ted Wallace and his Orchestra, Seven Blue Babies, Varsity Eight (with Tommy Dorsey ), Irving Kaufman , The Goofus Five ( with Stan King and Ed Kirkeby ), Arnold Johnson , The Singing Boys (with Smith Ballew , Adrian Rollini ), Red Nichols , the Hot Air Men (with Phil Napoleon ) and with Joe Venuti . From 1937 he was a member of the Raymond Scott Quintet. In the field of jazz he was involved in 218 recording sessions between 1926 and 1962. a. also with Bea Wain , Benny Goodman , Lee Richardson and Joe Glover .
