Peter Baumgartner (born May 12, 1966 ) is a former Slovak football player .

Club career

Baumgartner began playing football for the then Czechoslovak second division club SH Senica . For the 1986/87 season he moved to the first division team RH Cheb to do his military service there.

On September 7, 1986 Baumgartner made his debut in the top Czechoslovak league when he came on in the 0-2 defeat of his team against Sparta Prague for Stanislav Lieskovský . He was also used on the following fifth match day in the 1-0 win against TJ Vítkovice , but this encounter should remain his last competitive game for Cheb.

In the summer of 1987 Baumgartner moved to Dukla Banská Bystrica to spend his second year of military service there. In Banská Bystrica , the Slovakian played three games from the start, none of which lasted the full 90 minutes. After the season he returned to his home club in Senica , but went to league rivals ZVL Žilina during the winter break . In the first half of the season he had contributed to Senica's 2-1 win over Žilina, but he scored in the second leg on the side of Žilina, who won 2-0. After two years in Žilina, Baumgartner returned to SH Senica in 1991.
