Peter Biegelbauer

Peter S. Biegelbauer (* 1966 in Vienna ) is an Austrian political scientist and works as a senior scientist at the Austrian Institute of Technology and as a lecturer in the fields of policy analysis , comparative political science and democracy research at the University of Vienna and the FH Campus .

Life

Peter Biegelbauer studied political science at the University of Vienna and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 1998 to 2011 he worked at the Social and Economic Research Institute Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), Vienna, and taught at the Universities of Vienna, Innsbruck , Salzburg , Charles University in Prague , where he was visiting professor in 2006, and at the Institute for Advanced Studies . From 2010 to 2014 he was the managing editor of the Austrian Journal for Political Science and has been a spokesperson for the Politics and Administration section of the Austrian Society for Political Science since 2012 . In 2013, Peter Biegelbauer completed his habilitation at the University of Innsbruck. From 2015 to 2017 he was co-editor of the journal European Policy Analysis.

Biegelbauer's work focuses on policy field analysis , research, technology and innovation policy, the role of civil servants in the production and execution of politics and questions of democratic legitimation or democratic innovations. He also deals with how learning is possible in politics and administration.
