Peter Brüchmann

Peter Klaus Brüchmann (born April 5, 1932 in Berlin ; † October 17, 2016 there) was a German photographer . He portrayed stage, film and music stars from the 1950s to 1980s.

Life

Brüchmann grew up in Berlin. From 1949 to 1952 he did an apprenticeship with the fashion and portrait photographer Lotte Söhring. After a traineeship at the German Press Agency (dpa), he was employed there as a photographer from 1954. In 1956, Willy Fleckhaus brokered his first own picture contributions in the youth magazine Aufwärts of the Bund-Verlag . In 1958 he was briefly a photo reporter in the Berlin office of the women's magazine Constanze (magazine) , at the end of 1958 Brüchmann moved to Hamburg , where he continued to work for Constanze , as well as for Schöner Wohnen and Stern (magazine) . In 1963 he became an editorial photographer at Bild am Sonntag . In 1964 he moved to Munich , where he initially worked for the magazine Revue . From 1966 to 1967, Brüchmann was a photographer for Quick magazine . In 1961 he documented the Beatles' visit to the Top Ten Club on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, a report that appeared in Quick in 1966 . Since 1968 he has been working as a freelance photographer for Quick, Freund, Playboy, Lui and above all for twen .

Brüchmann portrayed many stage, film, literature and music stars from the 1950s to 1980s, initially in black and white, later in color. In 1967 and 1968 numerous recordings were made at the Burda Verlag's Munich Film Ball; Well-known are the photographs taken there by Romy Schneider.

In the 1970s he lived in Singapore for a long time and took photos in Indonesia for the Apa-Guides travel guide (now Polyglott Travel Guide ) and the Indonesian airline Garuda .

The photo collection of the German Historical Museum (DHM) in Berlin has 49 black and white and 38 color prints of his work from the 1950s to 1980s. Brüchmann lived in Berlin.
