The Bund-Verlag GmbH is a specialist publisher of labor and social law, based in Frankfurt am Main . The publishing house has 53 permanent employees (as of August 2017).
history
The publishing house was founded in 1947 on the initiative of Hans Böckler in Cologne by the German Federation of Trade Unions in the British occupation zone. From 1994 to 2008 the publishing house belonged to the holding company of the trade unions (BGAG) . Since 2009 the DGB , IG Metall , ver.di and IG BCE have owned the Bund-Verlag in equal parts.
The publisher's first publications included brochures such as the fat emergency plan . In 1952 a publication appeared on the Works Constitution Act of October 11, 1952 and the first commentary on the Employment Protection Act. In the following years the Bund-Verlag established itself as a specialist publisher for labor and social law and as a forum for critical contributions to politics, economy and society. The first edition of the labor and social order. Selected and introduced legal texts by Michael Kittner appeared in 1976. In 1980, Arbeitsrecht im Betrieb came onto the market, which quickly developed into the leading trade journal for works councils and has a monthly circulation of over 23,000 copies.
The "Magazines" division was bundled in AiB Verlagsgesellschaft in 1996 and supplemented with seminars for works and staff councils. In 1997 Bund-Verlag moved from Cologne to Frankfurt am Main. The AUC publishing company followed in 2004 and in 2008 was also company legally reintegrated into the Bund-Verlag.
Publishing program
The publisher is regarded as the market leader in labor law publications for employee representatives such as lawyers, works councils , staff councils , employee representatives (MAV) , severely disabled employee representatives (SchwbV) , youth and trainee representatives (JAV) .
The publishing house publishes a number of specialist journals on labor and social law, including the titles Arbeit und Recht - German and European Labor Law, Labor Law in Companies - Journal for Works Council Members, Computer and Work (until 2006: Computer Fachwissen ) - Networked Knowledge for Business and staff councils, Gute Arbeit - magazine for health protection and work design, the staff council - personnel law in the public service, and social security. Under the leadership of the Hans Böckler Foundation , Bund Verlag publishes the magazine Codetermination .
The publisher also publishes a number of “classics” of labor law literature, including Kittner's collection of texts on labor and social order , the title Labor Law. The publisher also operates the specialist portalarbeitsrecht.de with daily news, new judgments by the labor courts and a forum for discussing labor and social law issues.

The German Works Council Prize is an initiative of the journal Arbeitsrecht im Betrieb published by Bund-Verlag . The German Personnel Council Award is an initiative of the Bund-Verlag magazine Der Personalrat . The Bund-Verlag is also a partner of the Respekt! No place for racism .
