Peter Burton
Peter Burton (born April 4, 1921 in London Borough of Bromley , England , † November 21, 1989 in London ) was a British actor .
Life
Burton was the first to cast Major Boothroyd , better known as Q , in the film James Bond Chases Dr. No figured. He got the role because he was a close friend of director Terence Young . Only when Burton was replaced by Desmond Llewelyn due to a scheduling conflict with James Bond 007 - From Moscow with Love , did the figure attract more attention.
Burton also starred in the Bond parody Casino Royale (1967) and in the television series With Umbrella, Charm and Melon , The Man with the Suitcase , UFO , The Professionals and Simon Templar .
Peter Burton died in 1989 at the age of 68.
