Peter Christoph Geier

Peter Christoph Geier (* before 1682 in Lüneburg ; † April 1713 ) was a German council and bell founder in Lübeck .

Life

Before he came to Lübeck, Geier worked as a foundryman in Glückstadt, Copenhagen, Wolfenbüttel, Hamburg and Berlin. He married in Lübeck in 1682 and was a journeyman with the council founder Albert Benningk , who was known as a piece caster for his Europe-wide gun production. In 1705 Geier became the senior man of the red foundry in Lübeck. From his time as a council founder in Lübeck from 1696 to 1713, only two bells that he cast have survived. Two of his daughters later married Lübeck Ratsgießer, Lorenz Strahlborn and his successor Johann Hinrich Armowitz .
