Peter Debye Award
The Peter Debye Award is an annual award in physical chemistry given by the American Chemical Society . It is named after Peter Debye and has been awarded since 1962. Currently (2012) it is endowed with 5000 dollars. EI du Pont de Nemours has sponsored the award since 1979, from 1970 to 1976 Exxon Chemical . In 1960, the price was by the Humble Oil and Refining Co. has been donated. No prizes were awarded between 1977 and 1980.
There is also the Debye Lecture at Cornell University (Cornell Section of the American Chemical Society), an honor that has generally been given annually since 1963.
