Peter Dicke

Peter Dicke (born January 24, 1956 ) is a German organist and music teacher.

Life

At the age of fourteen he passed the Catholic B-exam. After graduating from high school in 1974 at Koblenz's Görres-Gymnasium , Dicke studied school music , organ and piano in Cologne . In addition to the diplomas in these subjects, he passed the concert exam for organ. From 1966 he was organist in various smaller parishes before he was organist at Maria Laach Abbey from 1973 to 1979 . In 1977 he received a teaching position for organ and organ improvisation at the Cologne University of Music . From 1995 to 1998 he held a substitute professorship there. Since 1998 he has been a guest lecturer at the Russian music academies in Kazan and Saratov . Currently (2011) he is again working in various smaller communities. Dicke has also emerged as the editor of piano and organ music at Verlag Dohr, Cologne , with editions by Max Reger , Joseph Rheinberger , Pietro Pompeo Sales and Fanny Hensel , and as the author of an instrumental school for young organ players at Verlag Schott, Mainz .
