Peter Dieterle

Peter Dieterle (born March 8, 1935 in Leisnig ) is a German physician and diabetologist .

Life

Dieterle received his doctorate in Munich in 1960 . In 1970 the habilitation followed . He was chief physician at the Munich-Neuperlach Municipal Hospital , where he founded a vascular center and the angiology department , and from 1976 he was an adjunct professor at the University of Munich . His scientific work focuses on gastroenterology , metabolic diseases and endocrinology . He has shown that high blood pressure with too high a concentration of insulingoes hand in hand. This knowledge is the basis for the fact that diabetes, obesity and lipid metabolism disorders are now considered in connection with high blood pressure. He retired in 2000.

His scientific contribution includes 45 articles in specialist journals. The book Diet for Diabetes was published in more than 40 editions and has been translated into several languages. Since 1977 he has been co-editor of the Medical Clinic , the organ of the German Society for Internal Medicine (DGIM).

In 1985 he was a founding member of the German Diabetes Foundation (DDS) and was a member of the board as treasurer until March 2006. When he left office, he was made an honorary member of the Foundation. In addition, he worked as an examiner for specialists at the Bavarian State Medical Association.
