Peter Dreßen (born September 9, 1943 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German SPD politician and trade unionist. Between 1994 and 2005 he was a member of the German Bundestag .

Life

Peter Dreßen attended elementary school and then completed a commercial apprenticeship. This was followed by further training in business administration at the Meersburg Academy. From 1972 to 1980 he was the SPD sub-district manager and from 1980 until his entry into the Bundestag in 1994 he was DGB district chairman of Freiburg and Breisgau . He is Protestant, married and has three children.

Since 1982 he has been alternating chairman of the AOK Emmendingen and the administrative committee of the Freiburg employment office. He has also been an honorary judge at the Freiburg Labor Court since 1980 . Since then he has also been a member of the vocational training committee of the Freiburg Chamber of Commerce , the University Advisory Board of the University of Freiburg and the Economic Advisory Board of the City of Freiburg. When he joined the Bundestag, he resigned from his offices, with the exception of the functions at the AOK.

Since 1970 he has been a member of IG Metall and a member of the workers' welfare organization .

Peter Dreßen has been a member of the SPD since 1968 and was city ​​councilor for the district town of Emmendingen from 1971 to 1994 . From 1973 to 1985 he was elected to the district council of the district of Emmendingen .

He was a member of the German Bundestag from November 10, 1994 to October 17, 2005. He was elected from the state list of the SPD in Baden-Württemberg . He did not run for the 2005 Bundestag election . Among other things, he was a full member of the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs.
