Peter Ellis (director)

Peter Ellis (born January 28, 1948 , † April 24, 2006 ) was a British director who was involved in the development of a number of television series.

He began his directing career with episodes for various television drama series in England . In the late 1980s he moved to Hollywood , where he lived for the rest of his life.

He has worked on productions in the US , Canada , France , New Zealand , Spain and has directed several episodes of Highlander , Criminal Minds , Supernatural , Third Watch - Einsatz im Limit , Queen of Swords , Diagnose: Mord , Falcon Crest and The Optimist . He also wrote six episodes for The Optimist .

Ellis died of a heart attack at the age of 58. The second episode of Supernatural's season 2, Everyone Loves Clowns , is dedicated to him.

Peter Ellis was the brother of actors Robin Ellis and Jack Ellis .
