Peter Elson
Peter George Elson , shortly Peter Elson (* 13. January 1947 in Ealing , London , † March 1998 in Skegness ) was an English science fiction - Illustrator .
Elson illustrated hundreds of science fiction novel covers in the 1970s and 1980s . Elson's works were mostly detailed spaceship drawings that were depicted against a colorful space background. His work and style influenced a generation of science fiction illustrators and concept artists.
Elson died of a heart attack in Skegness, England in March 1998 after making collages for a mural for Butlin's Holiday Camps and resting in a hotel bar. Most of his work became the property of his sister after his death.
The spacecraft design of real-time strategy game Homeworld 1999 (and later Homeworld: Cataclysm and Homeworld 2 ) have strong similarities to the illustrations of artist Chris Foss and Peter Elson, both in the passes special thanks to -Sektion the end credits (credits) be mentioned.
