Peter Emil Recher
Peter Emil Recher (born June 29, 1879 in Heilbronn ; † May 26, 1948 in Urfeld ) was a German lithographer and painter .
Life
From Recher are numerous landscape pictures influenced by Impressionism , which depict the alpine mountains of Switzerland and Bavaria .
Recher was born the son of a Swiss man and a woman from Baden. After graduating from school, he initially trained as a lithographer. From 1904 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart .
Study trips took him to numerous countries in Western and Southern Europe as well as North Africa. Eventually he settled in Lisbon . There he was appointed professor at the Escola Academica in 1910.
After three years, Recher returned to Germany and settled as a freelance painter in Urfeld am Walchensee. There he met Hermine Kellermann, the daughter of the academy professor and court pianist Berthold Kellermann . Both married on July 7, 1914. The couple lived in Munich from 1915 to 1919 and eventually moved to Feldbach on Lake Zurich.
